This Watermelon Sangria is my new favorite summer beverage, and I am so happy to share my recipe with you. Entertaining over the summer needs to be easy and efficient, and that’s the main reason why I love making pitchers of sangria for our picnics and BBQs. With our new KitchenAid® Multi-Door Refrigerator, I have tons of room to chill pitchers of sangria and punch that my guests can easily access.
Did I mention how easy it is to make this recipe? First, grab a big watermelon and cut it up into cubes, removing the skin and seeds.
Next, transfer the watermelon to your KitchenAid® Diamond Blender and purée away! I love this Blender because it easily purées ingredients with zero mess.
You can add other seasonal fruit to the Blender at this point if you’d like. In this recipe, I stuck with just watermelon, but raspberries, strawberries or blueberries all would pair well with the flavors of this sangria. I also like adding the vodka at this step too because it helps with the blending process. As the watermelon is blending, pour the vodka through the pour spout and blend until smooth.
Once well combined, strain the mixture into a large pitcher. Then add in the wine, orange juice, triple sec, orange and lime slices. I love using a dry white wine but a good rosé works well too and the triple sec brings together the great summer flavors in this sangria.
Chill your sangria for at least two to three hours so the flavors develop and combine. I love refrigerating mine overnight and leaving it in my Multi-Door Refrigerator until the party starts.
The roomy Multi-Door Refrigerator makes it easy to entertain. It is equipped with slide-away shelves that allow me to reorganize the interior to maximize space and better store taller items, like large bowls and pitchers. No more trying to squeeze a tall pitcher onto a too-small shelf!
Serve your sangria over ice and add cubes of watermelon to the glass. Garnish your glasses with mint and enjoy this refreshing summer drink!
