I use my KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender — it’s the most powerful blender on the market* and a great tool for making healthy recipes. Not only can you make silky smooth fruit and vegetable smoothies, but you can also make hummus, tapenades, and more. This blender comes with a Flex Edge Tamper that helps push ingredients to the blade and scrapes down the sides of the jar all while blending, so as not to disrupt your mojo.
I especially love the tamper for this hummus recipe because it has a thicker texture and I want to ensure an even blend. Best of all, the Blender comes with a self-cleaning cycle to make clean up fast and easy. You can also wash the removable parts in the dishwasher!
To make the garden vegetable hummus, add the tahini, lemon juice, basil, parsley, chives, garlic, olive oil and salt to the Blender. Pulse briefly to combine. The ingredients should just be coarsely chopped and combined. Scrape down the sides of the container with the Flex Edge Tamper and then add half of the chickpeas and process for 15 seconds.
Scrape down the sides of the container, and then add the remaining chickpeas and process until smooth, about 1 to 2 additional minutes. Add additional lemon juice as needed to create the desired texture and flavor.
Transfer the hummus to a bowl for serving. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley, as desired. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. The blender jar can fit a significant amount of ingredients, so you can double the recipe to create a larger serving of hummus.

*When testing the actual blender power output at the blade using a dynamometer, a machine laboratories use to measure mechanical power, this KitchenAid blender with its heavy duty motor and advanced motor control board, produces more power than the leading competitors.
