Last month KitchenAid sponsored the first Big Traveling Potluck in Southern California.
The Big Traveling Potluck is not your typical blog conference; it is an event that focuses on community, inspiration, fun, and of course good food. There were no business cards being handed out and no one was talking about SEO or traffic. Bloggers attended to share, reflect, discuss, laugh, cry, and to enjoy delicious food. It was a perfect weekend and we were thrilled to attend with KitchenAid.
The first night we gathered at a gorgeous home that overlooked wine country. Bloggers enjoyed catching up and there was a fantastic spread of local food. KitchenAid provided a fabulous display for dessert. I loved the Stand Mixers with strawberries, brown sugar, and sour cream. Such a fun idea for parties!
The night ended with some fun giveaways provided by the sponsors.
On Saturday, we kicked off the day with a healthy and delicious breakfast. Every KitchenAid Stand Mixer was filled with a color coordinating fruit. Simple, yet stunning!
We spent the day listening to inspirational messages from Melissa Lanz, Matt Armendariz, Helen Jane, Jeannine Harvey, Barrett Ward, and Ree Drummond.
The theme of this year’s Potluck was “invest in yourself.” Each speaker shared personal stories and advice on how they’ve self-invested.
Lori from Recipe Girl showed the group how to make her sweet Snickerdoodle Blondies, a recipe from her new cookbook.
KitchenAid provided a gorgeous Beverage Center so we could sip on juices throughout the morning.
In the afternoon, Gaby Dalkin, author of Absolutely Avocados, shared tips on how to make the perfect guacamole. Bloggers teamed up for a little guacamole competition.
Oh, and there were also margaritas made in KitchenAid Green Apple Blenders. Everyone was having a good time!
We gathered in the barn for a cooking demonstration by Mary Sue Milliken and a lovely dinner. It was the perfect end to a fun-filled day.
On Sunday morning, we hopped on the bus for one last meal together. The farewell brunch was an avocado toast bar. KitchenAid 4-Slice Toasters got their morning workout because the bloggers were hungry and excited to get their toast on.
We were all sad to see the Big Traveling Potluck come to an end. A big thanks to the organizers and sponsors! It was a perfect weekend from start to finish.
Special thanks to Brian Samuels of A Thought for Food for contributing many of the photos above
