Fall is in full swing, and we are so happy to be celebrating it! We have one kid in fall baseball, the other in soccer, and when we get home from a long Saturday at the fields we are SO ready to snuggle in, get comfy on the couch, and enjoy a nice cocktail in front of the television.
Caramel apple has always been a favorite fall flavor for me, and with bourbon drinks being all the rage right now, it only makes sense to combine the two. The flavors work beautifully together, with the bourbon lending an earthy warmth and slight smokiness to the toasty and sweet flavors of caramel and apple.
I like to begin by rimming the glass in caramel and finely-chopped peanuts. It somehow makes a drink feel even more special to me when the glass is rimmed. And this lends a little added flavor and crunch, so it really tastes just like a boozy version of the seasonal caramel apples we all know and love.
Place a small amount of caramel sauce in the center of a plate, and allow it to pool and spread. Then, just dip the top of the glass in, and immediately set it into the crushed peanuts. Make sure your peanuts are very finely chopped, and it helps if you roll the glass around a little bit, just so that the rim is fully coated.
Now you can move on to the cocktail itself!
Using fresh apples really brings an authentic, true apple taste to the drink. You can use any kind of apple you like to eat. Some of my favorites include Gala, Honeycrisp, and Granny Smith (for more of a tart apple flavor). There are tons of great choices, especially at this time of year!
Just peel, quarter, and core the apples.
Place the apples into the jar of the KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender along with the apple cider (the non-alcoholic, non-carbonated kind), bourbon whiskey, salted caramel sauce, and plenty of ice.
It’s important that you layer the ingredients in the right order with the liquids on the bottom, softer ingredients next, and ice on top. This will really help everything to blend smoothly and easily. Here’s the order the ingredients should go in:

The Pro Line® Series Blender has a special smoothie setting built right in, and it’s perfect for icy drinks like this one. Just turn the dial to the right setting, then click the start button. It couldn’t be any simpler!
This Blender has a heavy duty motor and advanced motor control board, producing more power than the leading competitors. It makes quick work of the ice, and in just a few minutes you have a light, fluffy, and smooth-as-can-be slush drink that can be sipped with a straw or slurped from a spoon.
You’ll love this boozy take on the traditional caramel apple. The smoky notes of bourbon are a perfect complement to sweet apples, rich caramel, and crunchy peanuts. It’s perfect for fall and so delicious too! Cheers!
